WHO PAYS THE STARTING EXPENSES

OF THE SCHOOL YEAR?

At this time of year, consultations are common in relation to who has to pay the expenses that occur as a result of the start of the school year. That is, which of the parents has to pay for books, school supplies, uniforms, and so on.

First of all, we need to know whether the Judgment regulating custody and custody makes express reference to the payment of these expenses. If so, the costs will be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Judgment.

In the event that the Divorce Judgment does not rule on this matter, the costs of the start of the academic year must be paid with the alimony. That is, they will be paid by the parent who receives child support from the children, as the jurisprudence considers the costs of the start of the school year as ordinary expenses and are therefore included in the pension.

These are foreseeable and recurring expenses, so they will have to be paid with alimony.
